Family Involvement Plan 24-25

MOON LAKE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL FAMILY INVOLVEMENT PLAN 2024-2025

Moon Lake Elementary School has developed a Family Involvement Plan to meet the expectations of parents, community, and school personnel in accordance with Title 1 requirements. We encourage all parents to be actively involved with their child’s education.

The Family Involvement Plan is distributed each year and will be given to all new students on the day they enroll at Moon Lake Elementary. Our annual Title 1 meeting will be held on campus each year as part of our Open House night.

Meetings are held in a timely manner for  the planning, review and improvement of the programs in which parent and community are involved. This is accomplished via parent surveys, parent-teacher conferences, and SAC (School Advisory Council) meetings. We provide parents the opportunity to participate and observe their child’s class. Parents are invited to be active volunteers through the School Website, Newsletters, and SAC committees.

Moon Lake Elementary School will supply information to parents regarding services and programs by way of the student handbook, school website, class dojo, classroom flyers, SAC meetings, phone calls, social media and e-mails.

Moon Lake Elementary School provides parents an explanation and description of school curriculum and the various assessments used to measure student progress and proficiency levels. This is done through homework folders, parent conferences, class dojo and newsletters. We provide parents with access to  mid-quarter student progress reports, quarterly report cards, parent-teacher conferences and other communications as needed.

Moon Lake Elementary School provides an ongoing opportunity for parents to meet with teachers regarding their child’s education and to participate in and respond to any decisions made on behalf of the child.

Moon Lake Elementary School provides a jointly developed school compact. This written compact explains how parents will partner together with school staff and students thereby sharing the responsibility for improving student academic achievement.

Moon Lake Elementary School principal and staff are available to help parents understand such topics as the state student academic content and achievement standards, state mandated and local assessments, monitoring student progress, and working with the school staff to improve their child’s achievement and the requirements of parent involvement.

Moon Lake Elementary School stresses the value of parent contributions. The staff has been trained to work with parents as equal partners and to build ties between parents and school. Parents are provided with surveys for input on programs they would like made available at school.

The purpose of the Parent Involvement Plan is to make parents aware of the services and responsibilities that Moon Lake Elementary School provides their child.
